As above thanks
I do.
Single or double front rings yes?
How many rings up front?
oops 3
Yes, unless you cross your gears up (big/big or small/small combinations) On my cross bike I run a road triple (30/40/52) with a 12-27 cassette and a super short mech and it's worked fine for 6 years.
Personally I wouldnt, as you do forget what gear youre in sometimes when you should shift front down you shift rear up... graunch
I do, haven't had any problems (touch wood).
Ok cheers.
I run a 11/32 9 speed cassette with a triple 22/32/44 chainset
I hardly use the 44 so no problem but in the big ring towards the top of the cassette could be disaterous
Yep, have done since my first Clockwork in '93. Just set the chain so it will just accommodate big/big so it doesn't all jam up if you accidentally shift into big/big. The chain will be slack in small/small, but how often do you go below the 5th sprocket before going back to the middle ring?
Rob
Short cage X7 with a 32T chainring and 11-32 cassette works great for me.
Would not use it with a double or a triple or on a FS though.
