Have badly damaged my SLR rim, looking online I cannot see SLR rims for sale seperately, are they available and how much for the rim?

Try and speak to Mavic, if nothing else it'll be interesting, their customer service is very... well, French. "Hi, I need a spoke for my Enduros". "Send it to France!" "Uh, I'd really rather not, I just need a spoke". "You have no way of knowing what you need! Only Mavic know! Send it to France!"

Mavic service centre is now on the uk. You will have to go through a mavic dealer though. About £90 iirc.

I was shocked at the cost to re-rim and spoke my Crossmax SX front. Tacoed it beyond repair in Morzine.

£171 inc postage!

complete Rerim and respoke at the service centre is normally about half the price of a new wheel.

If you rebuild it you really need to use new spokes as otherwise they twist and can snap in use.

I had a special 819 rim with 24 spoke drilling, £120 to get a replacement 🙁

Some chap on here bought on of those by accident last week - was trying to flog it for about 1/3 of that!

you use the black tool to hold em though gee no?

The threads tend to get mashed IME, and Mavic tell you to use new spokes.

Welcome to the world of factory wheels!
