Can I change my bottom bracket from a Square-tapered, 73mm, internal bearings on my Specialized Pitch 27.5 to a Sram BSA 68/73 dub bottom bracket as I want to go 1x GX Eagle?
It looks like it should be a straight swap. Anybody have any experience.
Thanks
Yes
Yes, but the bottom bracket shell might benefit from being faced, If theres paint on it for example, you might be okay but check with a feeler gauge or visually inspect when the cups are almost touching the shell, see if the gap is even, the cups should touchdown evenly, a magnifying glass and torch helps.
People who go through bottom brackets quicker than most people probably haven't got a perfectly faced shell.
Or they overtorque the bearings if using shimano cranks, it’s surprisingly easy to do.
