I have this Lezyne pump.
I love everything about it apart from the handle, its so small it's like a little stone in your hand and it really biffing hurts. (I'm a soft office worker) Well actually I have got a few of my mates to try it and even they think its bad.
So can anyone make something like this from stock bar approx 20mm dia, 90mm long, and a 14 or 15mm thread cut in the hole drilled about 20-30mm from one end? (I'll measure the thread properly, or send it to you, but I think its 15mm x 1) Although there is enough on the shaft that you could cut the thread on the shaft to match the thread in the new handle if we cannot match the existing thread. Any takers? I've got cash, an crc voucher and some hot man love for anyone who will help.
Ask any machine shop/mechanic/LBS nearby if they can help.
Where you based?
Nice rendering BTW!
Yes I have a friendly machinist but he is on holiday for a month..
There are about 20 people on here with their own lathes etc.
Pillar drills only I'm afraid.
Lathe-ists to the thread please.
find a nut that fits the thread ....
whittle a bit of wood to fit comfortably in your hand
bore a hole in the wood and resin the nut into the hole
screw to the pump.
Classy pump handle 😀
rendering was a screenshot.. Can do much much better.
trail rat, I did consider something like that, but I want an aluminium alloy one..
I probably could if you can wait a week or so.
Need to know the thread size though.
I'd bore it afterwards to save a few grams.
And I'd design a mechanism for it to flip vertical for storage. 🙂
TBH I thought about the hingy thing but I don't want to make anyone's life to hard.
Have you got any stock bar lying around?
I don't mind waiting, stopped using it about a year ago and just found it again today and its a shame to go to waste...
