[Closed] Can an Overworn Rotor Cause More Rapid Pad Wear?

Recently, consumption on brake pads on one of my bikes has gone up, accompanied by more issues with getting them to run without a bit of squeal (I know, the 2 could be/probably are linked).  Question is, could this be caused by an overly worn rotor?  I'm replacing them anyway as there is a visible difference on thickness on each side of the braking surface - front much worse than rear as you'd expect - but just curious to find out if this will restore things to the way they used to be

How?

Difficult to see how the thickness of the rotor could matter. Roughness could of course.

This. Overworn and so rough rotors will eat pads, as they do on cars.

I also thought as the rotor was worn, the outer edge of the pads might start to make contact with the inner edge of the non-worn surface because there would always be an overlap, that could explain the noisiness and maybe more wear there would lead to more pressure on the areas in regular contact with the braking surface?

They wear concave and it can create really thin knife blades that will shave at the pad.

Like wise finishing a race on metal after your shitty superstar pads fell apart will trash a rotor to the point the next pads stop you brilliantly three times ......

An overly worn or rough rotor usually obvious
