I've got the 200x51 but the shaft is 57mm long. Can this shock be changed to 200x 57 internally so I can use it on a longer travel bike?
Yes it can be but it would need stripping down to do it and a new part fitting.
That's cool.
What internal part would I need?
A new bearing housing which to fit requires a partial strip down and rebuild.
Any idea how much that'll cost? Dies the same apply for the new x2 do you reckon?
I believe it would be a specialist job so I would ring tftuned / mojo or some other specialist company
is the new part necessary expensive?
Is it the same for RP23?
Its the same for all fox shocks of that eye to eye length.
Is it the shaft only?
Jon you been buying secret upgrades !!
send it to rick he will sort you out 😉
I see now that the bearing housings are different on the 51/57 rp23
However, the damper shaft, internal adjuster rod and damper body are all different lengths too
So will work if I just swap the bearing housing, or have I missed something?
Also, if this does work, what effect will it have on the compression/rebound ranges?
Nothing to do with me but if it's taken a year to get this far alric this just appeared in the classified and might be serendipity.
