Any recommendations for the above as we're having our annual trip in a couple of weeks and fancy having a look at Betws.

No too bothered about facilities as long as there's a shower and would prefer a big site so we can hide in a corner. We're not hell raisers but we don't want people getting cross if we're awake past 11! Any help would be appreciated.

There is a place IN BYC, just on the other side of the railway. Lots of caravans and a smallish tent area. Think it's called Riverside.
I stayed there once. The trains going past in the small hours can be a shock!!!!!

Cwmlanerch

Right next to the start of the Marin Trail and a 15 min walk (1 mile) down a quiet (unlit) country road or the forest into Betws
Nice little stream at one end of the campsite that makes a great beer cooler 🙂

Ive stayed here and the other one in Betws (posted above) this is much nicer, smaller but more room for tents and feels less 'formal'

I may be back there in a couple of weeks actually

oooh, do what Iain says. It's nice down there (just come back).
Shouldn't be too far to walk into the other little village or Llanwrst either.

We go here every year:

It's definitely a 'no single-sex groups' and 'no noise after 11:00' type of site though.

That's Penmachno in the distance.

We've camped here a few years ago.

But it's a short walk into Betws and was a fine place to stop for a day or so.

This one is really cheap, but basic. We were the only people staying there last month mid-week. So a useful option is you like that sort of thing or if the others are busy:

It's in Capel Curig, walking distance from 2 or 3 pubs and a short ride from Marin Trail or more interesting riding out of Ogwen Valley.

PS - annebr - that was a great site, but I think it may have closed and been turned into a more upmarket option.

I've been going to this one for a few years, since 1996. it's always been good, friendly and plenty of space and not too far from Betwsy.

That's the same one as I posted Keva. Carol is great isn't she?
I think we'll be staying a few days over the next couple of weeks.

We used to stay on the top ledge back in the early 90s, but with kids it's better to be down the bottom.

It looks very nice but all the rules put me off. It's the only weekend away we'll get this year and even though we're not idiots or trouble makers we might want to stay awake later then 11 and have some music on (quietly!) in the background.

They have an issue with music but other than that...

Massive site, in a nice location and lots of portable fire pits for you to use.

Riverside is great, we take the caravan there, but their tent pitches are for two-person tents only. The facilities are excellent. You haven't said how many of you etc.
