Thinking of heading to Brussels for the Grand Depart 2019 - it's likely we'll book something with AirBnb ( if there's any left)  but as an alternative can anyone recommend any campsites with camping pods in the general vicinity of Brussels, we are thinking of cycling there via either Harwich or Hull - if we can avoid having to carry tents that would cut down on the amount of kit we'd need to carry.

Thx

Backpacker hostels are plentiful.

I've not stayed in Brussels, but there are excellent train connections from Ghent or Antwerp which would be interesting.

Leuven or Mechelen would be my recommendations, plenty of AirBNB and probably some good camping too. Both about an hour's pedal away from Brussels connected by good cycling routes and, most importantly, lots of very good pubs & restaurants.

If you take the ferry to zeebrugge, Gent is a nice cycle from there.

in Gent at the Blaarmeersen camping you can rent little huts there. They are pretty basic but sounds ideal for your plans.

hop on the train with your bike to the centre of Brussels is good too.

Cheers,  Leuven or Gent both look like suitable options.
