We're planning on camping in the Les Arcs area for a family holiday this July/Agugust. Some of us are bikers and some are hikers. I've read that the funicular is more than likely out of action for the summer.
There are two campsites in Bourg St.Maurice, camping Les Reclus and camping Huttopia.
The other option is in Peisey-Nancroix, camping Les Lanchettes.

Has anyone stayed in Les Lanchetts for mountian biking. Is there nearby access with your bike on the cablecars in that valley ?

Here's what the Vallandry Peisy Office du Tourisme said. Looks like we're heading to camping Les Lanchettes

Thank you for your email and your interest in our resort.

The new Vallandry bubble lift will be open this summer for mountain bikers to access the bike park.

Please find attached the link for the bike park map from last year. This shows the Grizzly lift but it will be replaced by the Vallandry lift for summer 2022:

I remain at your disposal for any further information.
Regards

The Huttopia site is hard to beat as you can walk into town and to the supermarket. Short bike ride to the Funicular (assuming its' running this summer).
If you've kids then they were putting on kids entertainment near the swimming pool. If you want a week where you don't have to drive anywhere I can't think of a better campsite for MTB and entertainment for kids.

The downside of Peisey is that it's a small village with very little in the way of facilities. You get the lobster pots up and then the new lift.
Staying at Huttopia in Bourg has all the benefits of a decent szied town in terms of facilities, things to do etc. If the funi isn't running there will be replacement buses running regulary but it takes longer and is more faff.
Bourg will be hotter being bottom of the valley, it's not normally bad but in a heatwave it can be hot even at night.

Always stay in Huttopia, as above great location and a nice site. Love Bourg as a base so much great riding in either direction.

Jumping in on this thread... also wanting to find a base where I can MTB and my wife and daughter can hike / pool / explore but we're *definitely* not campers so are there hotels here? It looks like exactly what I'm after for the summer but as we've never done this before and all advice is most welcome. Especially with Eurostar not taking bikes (though I do hear they're going to reinstate that) advice on shipping would be welcome also... Thanks!
