I'm faffing around with my daughter's cross bike, which has Campag 9sp shifters and small block (max 24T, I think)

She would like a lower gearing, but we only have Shimano blocks on other wheels. Will the Campag shifters work ok with the Shimano sprockets?
Is there anything I should be aware of when swapping various bits over?

Why don't you just buy her a 9 spd Campag block with a lower gear? They're about £32 at Parkers.

The spacing is close enough for it to work OK with shimano 9s but of course there may be wear/meshing issues, also chain length and rear mech-large cog issues.

...campag blocks won't fit Shimano wheels.

Thanks so far.
Yes, we have a Campy hubbed wheel with small block, and a Shimano-hubbed wheel with 12-32 or so. I need to alter a the chainline too. Thanks for the tip about Parkers

I have used Shimano wheels and cassettes with a full 9 speed campag and alas I am afraid to report it worked better than the full campag system

Have you considered putting a smaller chainwheel on the front, might be cheaper
