UCI World Champs heading up with the boys 14 and 17, how safe is camping at Torlundy? Normally stay at Glen Nevis Campsite but thought about a change this year.
Is this the unofficial camp field that usually pops up at the world cup? It can get pretty rowdy...
Yes that’s the one.
Yeah, hearing from student son it can get rather dafty....
Beware the horse fly. They're everywhere up there.
Which is surprising, you'd think it would be sheep ticks.
Which is surprising, you’d think it would be sheep ticks.
Why? Really not many sheep about here. Plenty of tick's though.
Sheep tick isnt really the best name.
They love deer, so more deer more ticks
Horse fly’s, ticks and midges aren’t too bad here at the moment. Might change though!
We spent a week in Fort William last week. Rented a chalet in the woods near Torlundy. Not a single midge, cleg or horsefly all week no matter where we went. Utterly bizarre
The midge factory built into Ben Nevis is currently stockpiling them for the World Champs and they've not had the usual number of escapees.
More thinking is it safe your the youngsters rather than being attacked by horse fly.
