Planning ahead for adventures this year. Can anyone recommend campsites that'll allow my van and have at least a toilet/wash house. Not looking for wild camping, need a few luxuries at my age.

Any where in the UK

Cobleland near Aberfoyle.
Glenmore or Dalraddy, both near Aviemore.

Kielder Campsite - used it many times, avoid peak midge season or else go prepared.

There must be lots of campsites around the Galloway Forrest area, Gatehouse of Fleet. Gravel there is spectacular but I've only ever stayed in B&B.

For Galloway forest try here. Masses of riding from the site with easy access to the hills.

Haddon Grove near Monyash or Barracks Farm near Hartington, both in the White Peak, both close to a network of green lanes that would be wonderful to explore on a gravel bike

Beacon Farm near Whitby is great for East side of the NY Moors. Ensuite ice cream parlour too.

Holden Farm camping, which is about 5 miles east of Winchester along the SDW. Very clean facilities, a cafe (previously a cadence cafe, but not much changed) and plenty of hard standing to park a van. It’s my regular mid ride stop for a curry pasty. It’s also only 3 miles west of The Milburys pub (also on thee SDW).

www.tomsfieldcamping.co.uk on the Priests Way in the Isle of Purbeck (Dorset)?  Cyclable to/from the excellent Square and Compass in Worth Matravers or a short walk to the Kings Arms in Langton Matravers.   Not a bad base to explore the Purbeck Hills from, Corfe Castle, etc.

Glentrool is great - plenty of spaces for vans and nice camping around the lake. Midges are pretty vicious though. Very little (like nothing) in the way of facilities nearby - so bring everything you need.

Alfriston Campsite - very handy for the SDW, and reasonably priced, too

Royal Oak pub and campsite also in the White Peak right on the Tissington Trail (and PBW). Good food and beer on tap.

Not a specific reccomendation but a great resource collated by Neil Wheadon of cycling uk is this Google map.

It is aimed at cycle camping specifically but really useful

Glenmore or Dalraddy, both near Aviemore

I can thoroughly recommend Dalraddy. Found it really welcoming, half the pitches are private in the trees, good facilities.

Glenmore is nice, but when we went it was really crowded with queues for showers and loos.

Comrie Croft - classic spot that is just so the brilliants, good riding locally on gravel and of course MTB.

https://www.comriecroft.com/

Rannoch - Kilvrecht is a basic loos only site, but cracking riding around the blackwoods or over to Bridge of Balgie.

https://forestryandland.gov.scot/visit/forest-parks/tay-forest-park/kilvrecht-campsite

Ballater - loads of Deeside riding, the campsite is big and busy, but community owned and some of the best facilities (and pubs) we've been to.

Anwoth at Gatehouse of Fleet, - cracking wee site and facilities, amazing pubs (live music festival when we went) and brilliant Galloway riding from the door up hills or along coast.

Left field....Port Mor on Islay - community owned, cracking view, superb food at the cafe (mainly veggie & vegan), riding is all sorts rather than gravel.

We’ve always enjoyed staying here, a couple of nice pubs in the village as well.

Elan Oaks campsite in Elan valley, short riding distance to all the classic Elan XC routes. Actually it’s on the Trans Cambrian Way as well.

Not far from the Midlands, an hours drive from Wolves. My folks had a caravan there when we were growing up but not been for a long while. Perfectly situated between the Long Mynd and Stiperstones, it’s where I started mountain biking in the late eighties. Lots of trails and quiet lanes to explore.

If you don't mind hills then you could do worse than Swaledale, our favourite is Usher gap campsite at Muker or if you want a few more facilities Orchard campsite at Reeth.

If you really want to get away from things this would be a good choice, we've done a lot of rides on the gravel bikes from here

@nickingsley - at the moment, you don't (sorry, it was my little joke about the forum "features"). However, now you've tagged me in this thread, it should be easy for me to find again. So thanks ?
