I have an ancient canelbak ice bottle (with no mud cap) that I want to replace.
I have a newer camelbak dirt bottle (with mud flap) but the lids are not compatible.
Anyone know if I bought a new camelbak ice will the lid be compatible with the newer dirt series bottles?
Description says it fits all Podium bottles
Cheers, was thinking I'd have to buy a whole new lidÂ
I bought a dirt bottle and I'd suggest you don't. The cap works well in so much that it stops cr.p getting in, but its held onto the bottle with a flexi bit of rubber rather than a stiff hinge. This means that the cap doesn't easily (one-handed) go back over the top of the spout - it wobbles round all over the place. You can get it on easily with 2 hands, but other brands have a hinged cap which you can open/close one-handed which is a much better idea
I can easily get the cap back on with one hand, while wearing a glove.
Grab the main lid between your thumb and index finger, with the mud cap hanging over that finger. Also hold the bottle with the rest of your fingers. Flip the cap over towards the centre with your index finger and press it on, bring another finger to help make sure it's completely snug on.
