So after much deliberating (maybe TOO much)

I decided to pull the trigger on a Ragley Trig through works c2w scheme

sitting here for near three hours trying to find one in a small AND a stockist that is on the vast list of suppliers for my employers scheme, I’m starting to lose my marbles a little

starting to wonder if I should be widening my wish list to more than one bike but haven’t much of a clue where to start

looking at £1700 at the top end of things

what else is worth looking into?!

STW hive, save me from madness…

Sonder Camino (but not steel if that’s a deal breaker)

Cannondale topstone, preferably the carbon one. Superb

I’ve spotted a 48cm Kona Sutra LTD online at Winstanleys which is within your budget too, very capable bike.

Thanks so far

winstanleys unfortunately isn’t on the approved retailers list for my c2w scheme

Steel or alu is not a deal breaker but I’d rather stay away from carbon (and cannondale) if I can, after bad experiences with both

looking for something that will be quick on tarmac but handle off road just as well, most of my gravel bike riding will be off road on differing surfaces whilst tarmac will be for commuting for the main part

Happy to consider a second wheelset further down the line if need be but finances will only allow for one for the foreseeable

I recently bought a Nukeproof Digger. It has been great. It is my 3rd cx/gravel type bike so I have some experience. It was either going to be that or a Camino. I liked the Trig but wanted 700c wheels.

So I would heartily recommend the Digger.

If I'd had had the cash though I would have gone steel or ti.

Have you spoken to Wheelbase? They could get the Trig in when I asked.

@chestrockwell I haven’t but thinking that could well be worth a call tomorrow / on Monday

@specialisthoprocker hadn’t thought of the digger but certainly worth a look

just out of interest, whilst I’m chasing a small trig, is there anything better or more worthy of a £1700 (or less) spend, the only thing I think I would have liked on the trig is a dropper but that can always wait

In the spirit of recommending what you own, I quite like my Whyte Friston

I do keep coming back to the Camino but as shallow(?!) as it is, the looks do nothing for me

some bikes I look at and think “ooh I’d love to ride that” others not so much, the Camino currently falls into the latter, I read somewhere on here once something along the lines of

“ I have to like the look of it otherwise I might not want to ride it often”

unfortunately, I think I (maybe many others too) fall into this category
