This would be an amazing setting for a trials video:

Also, what a shame. 😥

Total shame, there were similar photos knocking about not too long ago of abandoned Barcelona venues from 1992, including, iirc the amazingly situated diving venue.

Makes you think that, however controversial some of the "legacy" plans for the London Olympic Park might be, at least there are plans..

I thought the main Barcelona site was the one that's always cited as an example of how to leave a proper legacy?

Athens doesn't surprise me. Sydney's pretty much the same.

The venues in Barcelona are in a lot better condition than that, the pool is in use and I think the diving pool holds events. Terrible to see it like that, no wonder football clubs bid for the stadiums.

The rowing lake (well facilities) is still in regular use too.

Is still in use as a public pool.

The Barcelona Olympic site was built for the 1929 Barcelona World Exposition, not the Olympics.

How about a long board on a bob sleigh track? Could be a whole new level of awesome.

I'm like a man in orthopedic shoes, it seems.

I've definitely seen some other "neglected old Olympic stuff" not long ago that wasn't Athens though.
