Guys,
I have a 2015 Spectral CF, just had the bearings replaced with a kit from MB Bearings. There's play in the new rocker bearings, MAX 7901-V-2RS, checked that the spacer is there and they are the correct way round, Blue seals are outbound.
The factroy bearings are , Pure Cycling 7901-V-2RD, I've read somewhere that these are canyons own bearings.
Anyone had issues replacing the rocker bearings on the spectral CF with none factory bearings?
I'm guessing that it is the issue i had them replace with a full kit from Canyon last time round and had no issues.
Mike.
Same on my strive - canyon told me they were different so I’ve always used their bearings but I’ve since learned the d stands for ditchung which is German for seal. So 2RS is 2RD - should be exactly the same bearing.
Kinetic bearings do a kit which I know works fine - obviously your kit maybe different but their kit is black seal out not blue seal out.
Cheers Nick,
Nothing when it comes to mountain bikes is ever easy.
So do you know if the Max bearings are blue or black out bound?
I’m going to order the canyon bearings just in case and have the shop look at it in the mean time just to make sure that the correct way round.
Cheers Mike
Check with the supplier but if you have blue and black seals I would put my money on them being black outward as their probably all coming from the same place.
Although as far as I understand it the angular bit is all about loading wear - it shouldn’t itself cause play in the joint I wouldn’t have thought if they are backwards straight away - maybe after a few rides?
