How does anyone find the ride of their switchback, i have a 631 and find the rear a little dead..... does anyone have a Ti version if so how do they ride ?
Cheers
I have a ti one, my only bike at the minute and I really like it. Appears stiff in the right places but definately not dead. My mate has just dumped his stumpy Evo FS for one, great frames.
cheers , i think im going to pull the trigger on a Ti, the geometry is great ....just find the rear end a little lifeless, have you ridden a steel one ?
Yes demoed the steel I enjoyed that one as well, the geometry is great but the feel is not as good as the ti. It is a lot less money of course. I have had a bfe to but that did feel dead to me.
Where are you based you are welcome to have a go on mine if you are round the peaks.
Sprocker, thanks for the offer im based in Malvern so a bit of a trek :(are you on the owners club fb page ?
Yeah had a BFe, can feel a bit harsh as well, came from a soul and have to say in terms of ride feel that was epic really smooth , i changed due to wanting something a bit different and 650b 🙂
You have confirmed that the Ti is the way fwd...
No worries great bike I am racing the mega on mine in a couple of weeks. I have found it great for all day and just hacking in the woods
I would describe the ride of my raw switchback as rusted to hell.
Great warranty service though for a replacement.
No raw though. Very unhappy about that. Went for the new green
@ sprocker good luck in the mega.... That will put her to the test!
I'll keep you posted on ti progress .
I went for the cherry red .... Wish I had bought the green now as it looks awesome ,Dan is good as gold with sorting any problems , it's great to have proper back up when needed 🙂
Pop some pics up when he's built 🙂
I can only vouch for the steel frame but by god it's good. with the seat down it's a big bmx, very manoeuvrable and lively. but pop the seat up and it wants to ride for hours. And the steep head angle doesn't feel wallowy on the ups either. I cannot recommend one enough.
That is lovely
Thanks T.G.Ape
second that looks great 🙂 are those pikes on there?
went out again tonight 'bonding' with it now, you have just to let the backend do its thing on the rough stuff 🙂
Cheers. No, they're DVO Diamonds reduced to 140mm. I kind of got a bit carried away when thinking how to spec the bike and couldn't resist. I almost went for the green ones because I was impatient but I'm glad I waited.
and you're right about the back end and letting it do it's own thing. Just let the bike track it's way through and it'll do so with ease (to date)

4130s0ul - how are the diamonds and bike doing? Got a set for my switchback and just waiting to build some wheels before completing my build.
