You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
OK, not limited to gravelleurs but I imagine it wouldn't be of much interested to the MTBers.
I've noticed a forest track climbing up from the end of the Glen Ample through-route, before the final descent to Loch Lubnaig.
This track heads up and over, almost to 500m, before dead-ending in a forestry block. A quick river crossing and hike-a-bike would *appear* to bring you to a grassy landrover track traversing the hillside and meeting the hydro tracks near the locked bothy.
Very tempted to try it this weekend unless anyone can tell me definitively that the grassy landrover track is a squashy tussocky mess? There's perfectly good options further south if it means avoiding half and hour of soggs and tussocks...

I know a man who will know. Let me text...
(It is one I have looked at a few times, there are shiny new tracks up there)
Edit: He isn't picking up his phone. must be at work.
The new tracks around the Dam and Bothy are brilliant. I doubt they go further than you can see on the (older) satellite image.
The quad tracks around the bothy up to Meal Odhar, arse end (east) of Ben Each and Gleann a'Chroin are pretty boggy and tussocky - they are created by Argo cat not a quad.

Ug. On Google earth, those tracks you've mentioned appear identical to the 2km traverse I was eyeing up.
Hmm... I had vowed these days to avoid all hike-a-bike where-ever possible and yet it's such a tempting connection...
He has just called back (he is Stirling MC who own bothy) - yes, tussocky hell that he has done once when going upstream to cross stream after the floods 10 years ago...Not been up since then.
FWIW, I prefer to use Bing satellite imagery these days. It seems to be more up-to-date and more detailed. It's also easy to switch between OS and serial views.
I've found various windfarm and estate tracks, and lunch hut/bothies not marked elsewhere.
Lol! OK, maybe worth scoping out from either end, just for sake of riding the good stuff to the highest point at least.
Thanks

Wow, that is a big difference in detail! Google makes the track in question look so much better than it does on Bing, I think if I'd seen it on Bing first I wouldn't have entertained the idea...
