You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Might be useful info. for those passing through Glen Feshie - including any Cairngorm Loopers
Ruigh Aiteachain bothy (the one in Glen Feshie) is getting a major refurb.
A porch (with woodstore), an internal staircase, an upstairs room and improved bunks in the lower rooms are all in the plans.
No dates for the building work yet but I'll keep my ears to the ground - and hopefully update this thread.
You can study the full plans here
Good news, and a reminder for me to renew my MBA membership.
thumbs up. passed it many a time, poked my head in, not stopped.
I've used it a few times. Always one of my favourites.
Nice to see the landowner taking an interest in improving it too.
Had to check who the landowner was. Danish - is that right?
Good on him. Hope it wasn't his lunch time picnic Graeme and I disturbed as well descended into Feshie from Minigaig..
Its a tricky one, I think that many landowners have actually a good idea of what they want to do and are happy to invest in the wider picture. Some are complete tossers though..
[ not one of the tossers - me and a mate had biked up from Loch Maree to do some Fisherfield Munros, passed a Land Rover right at the top of the path (I think we were pushing by then). Chap was in vehicle, we chat happily for a bit, with some concern might be warned off because of shooting.. Was very amenable with a hint of a foreign accent.. strongly suspect it was the landowner himself, Paul van Vlissingen, laird of Letterewe - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Fentener_van_Vlissingen (now dead) - his partner is still a force in the John Muir Trust I think ]
That is most excellent.
😀
Mind, that also means busier than before.... 😕
Watch out for hoardes of German tourists arriving en masse....
I hope so. Tourism is responsible for 42% employment in the CNP.
