You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I'm looking for ideas for some early-evening road rides and would ideally like to find some cafés handily placed for a short stop. All the ones I immediately think of are closed in the evenings and then it's just down to pubs.
Surely there would be something in North Berwick/Dunbar, or Peebles? How about Linlithgow/Falkirk direction - or even in Fife?
Get the cake in the Co-Op and I'll put the kettle on. BUt if you want to go as far as Peebles you could always go into Jack Jims the chippy, they have a small seated area. The chippy in Dunbar, Tognari's(?)also has a seated area.

Pillars of Hercules near Falkland in Fife.

Loch Leven's Larder is always busy.
While we're on this can anyone recommend any restaurants around 60 miles away so's I can stop for a meal at my half-way point?
Half-way point to where?
2 hours outta Edinburgh = Bandit Country in all directions I reckon. Don't know if they are open in the evening but possibilities:
Sunflower, Peebles
Pines at Eddleston
Tearoom at Broughton
Cafe at Carnwath (if you go out through West Lothian and back via Dunseyre/ Leadburn)
Whitmuir Organics (between Leadburn and Romano Bridge on the A701)
Biker's place at St Mary's Loch
Somewhere in Dolphinton I think (but never been)
Struggling for other ideas to be fair.
McM... Loch Levens Larder closes at 5:30. Pillars closes at 5:00
See the problem?

Apologises for failure to check opening hours - too busy thinking about the cakes.
😆
I guess we just don't have a café culture up here!
