Sweamrs has joined a local turbo spin class for the winter. All very fancy with power meter resistance turbos that are linked and tuned to ftp. She's been asked to bring her cadence assembly to the sessions. I've no idea what this is despite being a reasonably keen cyclist. So over to the hive mind.
My only thought is around how fast/slow she can spin but wondering if it's an actual thing. Google hasn't been much help.
Guess it'll be a cadence sensor maybe? Ant+ compatible sensor probably, but why they don't have their own I don't know
I would also think they mean cadence sensor, but that's a very random request indeed. Not least because most bikes that do power will also do cadence, many power meters do so without requiring additional sensors at all.
Agreed on the sensor but was just wondering as most people call them sensors. The local shops (Calgary) can call things by unusual terms though. One spin class advertises ftw tests as opposed to ftp

Sounds to me like they have asked her to bring her legs to the class. 😉
Could it be some French Canadian translation thing?
Unlikely. Most Albertans speak even less French than the average English person. Quebec is, after all, a lot further than France from the UK.
Legs will be packed....
So apparently it is a specific cadence sensor supplied by the spin class as they have trouble picking up all the ant+ devices in close proximity. I smell BS as the tour seems to manage just fine but for 15GBP it probably isn't worth the debate.
We used to have special assemblies at harvest festival, easter and that kind of thing. Sometimes.
