Any opinions?
Obviously Early morning rules apply for cheeky paths but which way off has the biggest grin factor?
To be honest, the main route is pretty fun. You can proper cane it.
I've not tried any of the other routes though.
Depends where you started and you want to get back too.
We normally park at St Michaels Church in Llanfihangel. Head up via Gwastadfryn, climb the grass zig zags, join up with the Pony Path, up to the summit. Descending we retrace our steps to just after the second farm gate and head off down the BW that goes straight on as the track heads 90'right (its marked on the maps as a BW so easy to find) It follows a stone wall and dives into a brook/wooded area and then you pick up the main track again, albeit near the bottom.
Not done any other ascents or descents off Cadair Idris, but would be interested if there are options
Cheers

Did it last week, rode from the campsite in Arthog, over to Llanfihangel and took the bridleway to the top.
Was short on time so came back down the pony track (was quiet as it was midweek).
Path was steep and unreadable in a couple of places but was ok.
Best bit was the bridleway down to Arthog right at the end!

I've only done the pony path. The top rocky bit is awesome down to where it becomes grass. After that I was pretty indifferent about it.
