I'm setting up my 1x10 CX bike with an x7 rear mech and rival 10spd shifters. As there is no barrel adjuster on the shifter or mech, do people running similar setups find that they get by okay being precise with the cable bolt on the mech, or is an inline adjuster advised?

The only barrel adjuster on the frame is for the front mech, which won't give a great cable line for the rear mech.

I'd run something like this near the STi levers;

Jagwire etc do some nice ones too.

Thanks. Thought something like that might be a sensible idea. I could be there all day trying to tweak the cable tension with a pair of pliers at the mech end otherwise. 😕
