Wish I'd read that sooner, ended up trying to forge one out of the little metal cup things that tealight candles sit in... Didn't work, already frayed pretty bad. Defo gonna have to replace the cable when I get home. Just hope it survives a ride tomorrow....

never thought of superglue.

i've taped one before. lasts longer than a ferrule generally does.

frayed ends are untidy but they aren't going to make it more likely to snap.

You mean the cable end cap? A ferrule is the bit that goes over the cut end of the outer cable housing.

If it's the crimped endcap then I drop a bit of solder on mine, if you mean a cable stop then use a cut up rawlplug

crimp on electrical connectors work well. Just cut the spade bit off

How about some Heat-Shrink tubing? Available from Maplins 8)

I've used metal Crimps but Heat Shrink tubing is much neater 🙂
