Hi
Ive just been asked for help by a mate 'cos Im the local tame cyclist
His work are doing Ride to Work and he's got £1000 to spend on a road bike
Ive asked him what he wants and even advised some more thinking but hes happy he wants a full on roadie
No probs said I, just buy anything from a name youve heard of at 999 with a carbon frame
Then I had a quick surf
Has there been a recent roadie price hike as I was struggling TBH
Hes limited to the local shops but not Halfords and so can get all the usual brands but not internet specials like Wiggle and Planet X
999 seems to get you a Specialized or a Giant etc etc with an alloy frame, carbon fork and 105
Can you still get full carbon for a grand or am I daydreaming?
Cheers
only from Boardman and Planet x and ribble really. Put a couple of hundred quid with it and you can get a carbon scott with decent shimano or wilier mortirolo with campag. Entry level colnago also at a grand if you want a flash name.
Get to £1400/1500 and now your'e talking.
