So our C2W scheme has finally happened with a very short window of opportunity that ends on 21st December.

I've had a look and I'm pretty much set on a Whyte 805, although the 100mm fork and triple chainset probably put me off a bit.

The 901 looks ideal really but at £1199 its over the £1k limit, unless I can find a dealer willing to let me top up.

So what else should I be looking at for £1000, for riding local singletrack in the woods, some moorland stuff, the occasional trail centre.

Its been a while since I bought a hardtail so a bit out of touch.

Thanks for any suggestions. And its through halfords so unfortunately an on one is out of the question.

Yeh but didn't think that would work with a sort of custom buy option.

Love the acid yellow/hot pink.

Genesis latitude 10 also looks a contender, but not sure I want steel.

I'd learn to look on a triple as a benefit

Can Halfords do Evans (Pinnacle) as they do good value hard tails?

Boardman Mountain Bike Team HT 650B 2014 is well under budget at £850

Haven't used the granny ring for years so don't really want a new bike with one. Its not a deal breaker though.

Evans won't take halfords vouchers as far as I'm aware.

I've been told the boardman 2015 models are available from next Tuesday so would prefer to wait and have a look at the updated model.
