Going to be doing the woodcock route in september this year was just wondering will i need gears. Always ride SS ride cannock and was just wondering if the woodcock route will be ok SS
Ta
you'll probably need gears for the big rideable climbs in the lakes - walna scar, garburn pass, climb out of sadgill, then theres the tan hill climb.
I've done it a couple of times now and have always been glad of a granny ring for the lakes!
edit: i'm assuming its the off road c2c st bees to robin hoods bay, not the sustrans one?
yes lakes it is might have to have a rethink then cheers
We completed it a month ago. Wouldnt recomend SS with the varied range of terrain you'll have to cross.
Lot of slow climbing in the Lakes, and then plenty of fast crossing of the Dales and Moors (plus the road between Reeth and Osmotherly)
