After a new bike, anyone want to chip in with suggestions?

Reason: Current charge duster is a great bike. But....its not the best descender in the world and is a bit lardy. I've changed forks (will only take 100mm) to something beefier, fitted wider tyres and played with stems, but it does have a fairly steep head angle and its quite "weight forward" whatever I do (bar ride with arse off the back, losing control).

It didn't use to bother me too much, but I've had a couple of offs on my local trails now, always on steep rutted downhills and I've lost a bit of confidence in it.

So.. I don't give a hoot about 29ers. Too much dormant bmx'er in me to ride on a penny farthing. 650b's are a maybe. I want 120mm travel minimum, 28lbs maximum and a slack HA (67-68.5). It needs to climb though because of where I live (peak district), but needs to come down well too and have a rip at the trail centers.

Budget.... not really decided but I'd rather not spend more than £1200 on a hardtail these days and if I could save some and spend it on new riding kit, I'd be a happy bunny.

So what gets 2 thumbs up from the learned (and not so learned) STW'ers these days?

Ta' muchly.
