Hi all,

Sorry if this is a really dumb question.

I recently got a secondhand bike and am loving riding around the city but didn't realise how muddy I'd get without a mudguard.

I've been looking into getting mud guards and have found the measurement codes on my tires: 50-559 (26 X 190) c-860-13, which from my basic understanding means the tires are around 26 inches in diameter and 50mm in width.

Now the style of mud guards I like are the fixed types in aluminium (like these https://www.oxfordproducts.com/bicycle/brands/oxford/mudguards/mudguard_set_26_mtb_60mm_silver/) but I can't seem to find any that are 50mm wide for 26 inch tires. Would it be okay just to get 60mm mudguards or would they be too big for my bike.

Thank you for any help you can give.

Best,
NB

Yes, will be fine. You need the guard to be wider than the tyre.

Make sure you have the attachment points on the bike frame for the mudguard struts. Not all frames have the screw holes.
