Anybody had any experience buying bike parts in the US?
I'm going across for work next week and planning on trying on buying a load of SRAM kit.
Is it more reasonably priced than over hear and if they did check my case how much is the import duty?

Import duty and vat will add c25% to purchase price if you declare items and have US invoice.
If you try to sneak them in and your bag gets checked - possible fine and confiscation and 25%.
As for price comparison do it online.
IMO limited upside; significant downside potential.

exchange rate is in the toilet and bear in mind that prices quoted in the US may be absent state tax. hardly seems worth the hassle to me. YMMV.
