Hi, this question probably gets asked all the time but everyone's experiences are different I guess.

I'm looking at buying a road bike within the 600-750 price range, 52 or 53cm.

So far I've looked at the ribble winter bikes- alloy and steel.

I like the look of those because they have mudguard eyelets, spec can also be customized -do ribble offer discount codes etc?

There is also the planet x route, i'm not sure I want to go down there.

CRC have a couple of nice vitus bikes in the sale.

Any opinions would be greatly received.

Thanks in advance
Sam

Have you considered second hand? A nearly new bike can be a bargain. Alternatively does a Cannondale Synapse have eyelets? If so they may be woth looking at. Personally I would be less concerned with the group set it can be changed in due course.

Thankyou.

I was wondering if the ribble reynolds 525 would have any benefits over the alloy version... is it much heavier, is there a noticeable difference in ride feel?

This looks good...

Do you want mudguards fitted full time? If not, clip on ones like Raceblades are much easier to put on and remove - and work really well.

The usual answers are Boardman, Tribane 5 from Decathlon, or a Pinnacle from Evans

The pinnacle has space for bigger tyres

I've read lots about buying a bike with a good frame, the components can be replaced, which makes sense.

What bikes are there out there that have a good frame in this range?
