You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Hi all -
Have enjoyed the benefit of your collective wisdom for some time, now I need some advice.
Was in the process of buying the Kinesis FF29 from the nice chaps at Freeborn Bikes, as it's got loads of great reviews, e.g.: http://www.kinesisbikes.co.uk/singletrack-maxlight-ff29-bike-review-in-short-we-loved-it/
But they have kindly tried to upsell me a Devinci Wooky RC, (only review I could find here: http://www.freeborn.co.uk/review/product/list/id/7998/)
Its £350 more, but carbon frame and lighter (the review say its comes in at 23.6lb, but this seems to say it actually over 25lbs: http://www.bikerumor.com/2011/09/13/devinci-launches-three-29er-mountain-bikes-a-lightweight-road-bike/).
Most of the components much of a muchness, Devinci wheels are 15mm bolt through, which the Kinesis are not, but I'm not familiar with the brand of rims or hubs.
I won't be racing much, if any - would be used more for longer rides (building up to an attempt on the SDW Double, plus night ride blasts in the woods). So would like it to be fast, nimble, and comfy.
Did fancy the 120mm fork on the Kinesis though (cos I'm a wuss since a crash a couple of years back). Ideally I'd get a properly light full susser but no money for that.
So - is it worth the extra for the Devinci? Anyone got any experience of the Wooky, or the brand? (Know quite a few on here are FF29 advocates).
Thanks all
Neil
