I'm thinking of buying a frame in the states for a massive grand off uk prices. A mate has a shipping co so he can bring it back for me. Will the warranty be covered in the uk? Cheers

Not likely. Your warranty is with the retailer, not the manufacturer.

If in doubt contact the local importer and ask what international warranty is offered.

Remember also that you are supposed to be paying import duty and VAT on bikes brought into this country.

Probably, but you'll have to stump up for getting it to and from the States in the event of a claim.

Warranty will be through the place you bought it from. Expect to pay for the postage both ways too. As scotroutes says don't forget to pay the Duty and VAT.

Cannondale specifically say it has to be bought in the same territory/continent (went through this with a bike bought in the US and brought to us for warranty not long ago.......verdict-Jog On) .

Surely part of the 'profit' goes towards any potential warranty claims so, warranty will be with who ever you buy from. You can't expect a cheap over seas frame and a full UK warranty!
