I've finally found the model of bike that I want – unavailable anywhere in the UK – but it's in Denmark. I'm pretty sure that there won't be any extra import duty but I'm just having a final check here to see if anybody knows differently 🙂

No, Denmark is in the EU so there won't be any extra charges.

You may even save money. The VAT rate in Denmark is 25% and many online sellers now adjust the VAT they charge to that of the country of the buyer. Worth asking them to do this as you will then only pay 20% vat

Only noticed this the other day on the Bike-discount website, everything was 1% more expensive if I used my UK address rather than my old German one. (19% vat in Germany).

They charge whatever VAT they need to. Once a retailer sells above a certain amount to a particular member-state they have to apply that country's VAT rate rather than their own.
