You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Hi all, just wondering if anyone knows what this track is like? I'm in the area and after a couple of days of hard tech, a bit of a low level spin through the mountains on a less gnarly track would be nice!
It's OK, plenty of pushing up the first bit, keep left on the marshy bit where it flattens out and it's rideable, bit more carry up a steep bank to get to floutern then a blast down a farm track to the gate, probably better the other way round tbh, loop over scarth gap, mooch around ennerdale forest fire roads sn then over floutern for a chilled-ish pedal out, I'd say. Or head round via Holme wood and lamplugh fell bit of cheeky required . It'll be WET, mind.
probably better the other way round tbh
Nice one, thanks. Was thinking of doing that the opposite way around. And yes it certainly will be wet!
It does look tempting doesn't it. I went up it once from Buttermere and the path just disappeared into a bog so I turned back. There are bridges across becks you can see further on so in theory just head for the bridges to stay on the path. These lads have done it and the path is on the first part of this vid. I'd avoid doing it after days of rain.
Ride report please if you do it. 👍
Can we stop posting attractive to the eye videos during the working day please! I have stuff to do, not nearly important as watching bikes in the lakes but nonetheless....
Nice one, vid gives a good idea. If I take stabilisers suggestion the grassy climb looks ok, rocky back towards crummock also looks fun. Bog looks, er, interesting
