Anyone ridden up it? I have it on my loop this weekend and the last time I tried it I had to stop half way.

I've ridden down it once on a road bike, and even then I walked a bit. It is steeeeep.

Keep meaning to have a go up it, I too am riding past that way at the weekend so may have a crack at it.

I've ridden it a fair few times as I work in Bishops Cleeve. Last time I went up it someone else walked the steepest bit at the same speed I was riding!

I tend to use Gambles Lane or Stockwell Lane, which are parallel Bushcombe and not quite as steep (still probably > 25%), but less narrow.

I'm impressed you could ride it that fast 🙂

both road bike and mtb, have ridden it occasionally on the way to work. I have also fallen over unable to get the cranks to turn over!

Don't go too fast at the bottom and accept that the last corner is STEEP!!!!

11:33 at an average of 4.19mph is my PB according to Strava and that was with a stop, under 10 minutes would be nice this time.

That was hard. Forgot how steep and generally unpleasant it is, got up, just but had a stop and by gosh it was hard work.

Good effort. I'm going to have a go tomorrow, riding the long way from Cirencester to my folks in Bishops Cleeve for lunch, so I'll have a crack with about 50 miles in my legs...

I tried it in Jul 2015 during my first 100miler and ended up walking, it's been bugging me since so a couple of weeks ago I took a day off work and planned a 70miler with it in and managed to ride it in 8.58, I think I could have gone slightly quicker, but held back a bit as I knew I had to climb out of Winchcombe past the castle! When I got there the road was closed, however after chatting to a local postie decided to try it anyway and just pushed the bike through the roadworks (laying fibre cables), but presume they've finished now!

Last time I went for it it was raining. Could get much grip standing and sitting wasn't working. Final straw was grovelling up the right hand gutter on the final left hander to meet a car coming down. Walky time.

Well, I have to admit that I bottled it. It had been a pretty hilly 50 miles to that point, and I was late for lunch at my mum's 🙂

Another time...
