You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
My new Camino frame has mounting bolt holes on the fork legs. Can anyone point me towards some rubber bungs or something to fill them neatly when not in use? I could put the bolts in, but they don't seem to fit flush if you're not actually attaching something, so I'd like something a bit neater.
I’ve used some problem solvers frame bubs (pretty sure that’s what they were called). Generally okay, though some would fall out, some would be hard to squeeze in (silicon spray was good to fix this) - think it was largely more down to the hole tolerances than the bubs tbh.
I also ended up buying some of these - they’ve worked well on areas I wanted the holes plugged (fork arch/mudguard mount)
Here are the PS Bubs:
Wolf Tooth do 4 packs of nicely anodised bolts
Button heads look a lot neater than cap head bolts for blanking.
You can buy M5 frame plugs if you want plastic/rubber
Lightest option is probably nylon grub screws (easy to fit and remove and should stay put).

Or stainless button heads for shiny bobbles. 8 or 10 mm long would be plenty for plugging holes:

A2z or token bottle cage bolts are just like the Wolftooth ones but a fraction of the price surprisely 😁.
If uk based pop into toolstation or screwfix tomorrow for some button head stainless m5 bolts, a 50 pack is £3 odd.
I use stainless steel grub screws to fill unused mounts as they screw in complely flush. Got a bag of them off eBay years ago, enough to do a few bikes since.
You need to put a little blob of loctite on if using this method.
