Yesterday evenings sweaty ride home has left various bits of undercarriage in a bit of a state. So while the Endura singletrack bib liners are great for shorter distance stuff when it's hot and sweaty, I feel they need a bit of a frictionless hand for longer duration stuff. I've never used the stuff before, so what's the best bottom butter to slather on the nether regions…?

Assos chamois cream used to be the benchmark, but since Charlies got into the genital lube game you now have options.

I've used a horrible eurostyle menthol afair, which was frankly unpleasant and happy bottom bum butter from the bikemonger which smelled nicer and works wonders.

I’ve always used assos. It’s nice. However I’ve bought some of Bikemongers for bikepacking as it’s availabke in a small pot

Veloskin Chamois Cream is very nice and extremely natural in its ingredients. My ass was fine after 211km of sweaty ride last weekend.

picked up some baby zinc and castor oil from boots for our recent bikepacking trip ... worked a treat.

Bum butter is okay - got a trial pot once - but I just can't stomach the price. How much use are people getting out of it?

The best I've found is the Muc-Off one:

https://muc-off.com/products/luxury-chamois-cream

I had ten days of hot, dry, sweaty, 70km a day riding in Mongolia, with ne'er a chafed cheek.

I used that once but it rotted through my pants and caused me to go over the bars.

the happy bottom stuff is the best but it doesnt last that long. Its fairly water / sweat proof as well.

next up i find the muc off stuff almost as good.

then the bumbuttr

ive also tried some of the udder creams etc and while you get a lot its just not as effective.

I'm lathered up with Charlie's finest on the train to Winchester. Got a little pot for reapplication if I need it. Will post back!

A happy user of Assos MintyArseLard here. Only use it for longer rides, though.

" but I just can’t stomach the price "

Charlie has a cheeky discount code to make it more palatable, either ask him or look at recent bum butter threads for details.

Assos and Eurostyle have both been great for me.  Even discovered my wife sneakily using the Assos for horse riding as well

I've been using Bristol Butt'r after seeing a post on here about it a while back. Bit cheaper than the other stuff above:

I previously used assos stuff but have now moved on the the Velo skin chamois cream as mentioned above. I find it much better.

Luxury Chamois Cream

Never used bum cream until a really hot, sweaty 5h endurance test a few weeks ago led to unfortunate chafing.

Using a tub of the MucOff stuff and it’s been good so far...

You sure you didn't just eat a few too many gels?

On One Button Hole is good too.

+1 Assos became less minty a few years back.  This seems longer lasting, mintier and cheaper.  Available in both small and large jars.

Best ive used.
