Are there any special things over non-eyletted aluminium rims I should be aware of?
I've built a few Stan's Rims and a Velocity Blunt none of which had eyletted rims.
For carbon do I need to use spoke washers, for example?
I think for truing it's more a case of moving the hub around in the rim until everything is true than using the spokes to 'pull' the rim to right shape? (not sure if I've explained that very well)
Do I relieve spoke tension int he same way as an aluminium rim - hub on a bit of wood and lean on the rim?
Anything else I need to know?
Uh, I just built mine the normal way.
They'll take far higher spoke tensions than alu rims, no need for washers or owt.
I just built mine the normal way too. They've been clattered over plenty of rocks and are holding up nicely so far.
First wheels I built were LB carbon rims on King hubs, no mystic art at all
No idea about building m, got the lbs to do that, but annoyingly they are so stiff that of a spoke comes loose the room doesn't go put of true like an ally one so you don't notice!
Yes, I do put a bit more spoke tension into them.
