You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Started to built up the kinesis phase 5 frame for my son today. We fitted the 130 travel fox floats and I found out that when you turn the headset the forks will catch the underside of the frame.
Is this a problem? If so, is there anything I can do (maybe fit a special head set?!? Spacer?). It wont make any difference during riding, I just think that if he comes off, he may damage the frame and or forks?
What are your thoughts guys!
Any help and advice much appreciated!
Thanks
Simone
You need a headset with a taller bottom cup basically. No big worries, On One do one for £30...

If you buy this one, you need to click the "+5" option, which indicates the bottom cup is 5mm taller to avoid fork crown and down tube interface problems like you're experiencing.
There are probably others out there too suitable, just that this was the easiest to find as it's labelled as a "+5"
By the way, did the stem turn up ok?
Thanks for that, will have to invest in one of these then.
And yes, stem arrived (very quickly too, thanks), sorry for not letting you know, busy week! It is perfect and will sort out my bike nicely :o)
Cheers
