Usually layer up and wear my Madison zenith as top layer but... since injury and lockdown it just may have shrunk... honest...

So now back riding and aiming to fit back in to my shrunken jacket but in the mean time I need a cheapish one (if cheap exists in the world of MTB)

This one maybe...

Any other suggestions please - if anything decent can be had for under £60

We have a Pearl Izumi windproof - I am properly impressed with the detailing, cut and finish.

My only concern would be do you want a black jacket on a bike...?

I also just bought a brilliant Madison Stellar from here - sadly sold out in the mens - for £40. It is the best waterproof we have bought in a while, again good details, nice cut, good colour without being lumi yellow...

Start cycles also had some Madison or other - do look.

I would just go with another Madison in the next size up. Never had a problem with any of their clothing and it always seems to be available discounted somewhere.

Yeah, what Tracey says:

My current zenith has not got a hood which I think is the older model. When not using the hoods on these types of jackets do you find they are more of an annoyance?

Don't have a problem with or without hoods. I think the stellar is hoodless, S M and L are available on ebay

I’ve got an old Endura Event jacket that’s about 15 years old, that to has ‘shrunk😉’ so I’ve just been using my walking goretex as a waterproof. As a wind proof top I just use a London 2012 wind stopper tracksuit jacket which works well.

But I recommend the Madison jacket, my brother has one and it’s lasted ages of abuse.

I guess it depends on how much you want to spend abs if you are also going to shrink in the near future.

I've got a Pear Izumi waterproof I got for a pretty good price off Sportpirsuit. Really impressed with it. Proper high end feel - I paid over your budget but I'm sure there will be more economical options on there.

I picked up one of these recently - https://www.regatta.com/men-s-lyle-iv-lightweight-waterproof-jacket-pepper/

It was supposed to be for walking the dog but I've done a few rides in it recently and it is pretty good. A bit boil in the bag but OK for cold rides.

Hands down best for budget is the Decathlon Mh500
It’s now £65 but 15,000 waterproof
I have two,the older 10,000 and the newer one
Warm and kept me dry in some biblical downpours

What size do you need?

[Stealthad] I have a Gore Oxygen 2.0 in large that no longer fits me [/stealthad]

I bought a cheapo Rockbros branded one off ebay for £25.Wind proof/ water resistant.
Quite impressed with it for the money.
Can't comment on longevity as I've not used it much.

Sadly I think I need to go up to an XL (shame on me). My current Zenith is a large and I can zip it up.. just.. but with a layer underneath I feel I might suddenly burst out of it lol
