What about a straight steerer with hope crown adapter thingy?

We've got a mosso M5 alloy fork on the wife's bike and it's actually rather nice to ride. Be perfect for a hack

@NorthCountryBoy I *think* I might have one of the adapters laying about in the garage, I’ll have a look later.

Happy to send it to you if I can find it.

Carbon cycles Exotic aluminium or carbon on eBay? Don't remember if they do tapered steerers though.

What AC and what budget? Also, what's the minimum length of steerer tube needed?

Been running a Toseek carbon fork (eBay) on one of my bikes for a few years without issue - it is stiffer and lighter than the ‘branded’ fork it replaced that was 3x more expensive.

Thanks for the info, iv pulled the fork out of the frame and it turns out although its tapered steerer tube, the steerer tube is straight so I should be fine ordering a straight steerer alloy fork from Ali and carry the headset & crown race across.

Last time I needed something like this I picked one up from SJS cycles, they do seconds/marked ones a bit cheaper.
