DD has one of these as recommended by STWers and it's perfect:

She's grown a lot and her next bike will need to be a small adult bike.
99pc of the bike's use will be gravel family rides and trips into town along a towpath/roads with infrequent social trips to Moors Valley & QE Park.
Ultimately this is going to be left outside school and locked up in town to ideally looking for BSO price. I'd really like to avoid suspension. She weighs SFA so block brakes would work fine. I'm hoping £250 might do it but price is flexible upwards. (...and downwards - If Decathlon do something that works for £120 I'm happy!)
PS: Thanks to the folk who recommended the Orbea. It's been superb over a vast amount of miles and will be passed down to her brother. It's just perfect.
Theres a modern 26inch bike for kids on the Paul's cycles website that's largely reduced although without looking I cannot tell you more.
Scour eBay. I built my son a parts bin special to ride to school. It's actually a pretty good bike. Only thing I needed to buy was a gear shifter, but they'll be shed loads of cheap stuff on eBay and the like.
Old 26" wheeled frame like a spesh hardrock takes v brakes and discs will probably be less than £50 or something....
I bought my daughter a women’s Specialized sirrus. Bit heavy but she loves it. Over budget but keep an eye out for offers or s/h.
Should be able to get a retro MTB from Retrobike or the like for sub-£100 that'll be more than good enough surely?
