Anyone down to do it this weekend?
I was hoping to do the 100k route but the mate I'm doing it with hasn't done much training so we're opting for the 75k route
Weather looks like it might be ok!
this weekend, you have to be kidding me.
my village is already due to be inaccessible on sunday between, would you believe 0700 - 1800 due to some roady/charity/thingy (might be the chiltern 100 sportive)
the long route of the WDMBC will mean a lot local riding is packed out (sunday?) with riders, super grumpy redsox and littered with gel wrappers and uncollected directions signs
hurumph. no driving, riding, walking for me on sunday
why don't you sit in your front garden and hurl abuse at the visitors 😀
i will and being right at the top of a hill, everyone passes slowly.
when you pass me, remind me of this thread and you are welcome to join me for coffee/cake/bbq/beers.
6th entry. Anyone had their GPS? Due on wednesday but I've not had it yet.
It's on the website
the offroad 100 & 125k routes will be playing in the woods behind my house,
the 125 taking in the locally famous "Rogers Arsehole" climb, if i get chance today i will sign it for you, its about a mile after you see "The Whip Pub" by the windmill at the top of a road climb. NB beer festival at the whip this weekend
the 100k goes over a short section which is basically unrideable in the middle of summer, you will know it when you are walking on the edge, 3' above your bike (flatten that out for us locals please)
watch the road sections and crossings, as i said above, its a direct clash with the chilterns 100 sportive so the roads around Great Hampden especially will be carnage.
Have fun everyone!
I'm bailing - son is home and my legs are utterly trashed.
If anyone wants my entry e mail in profile.
