Anybody else go?
It was my first sportive after getting sucked into road cycling earlier this year.
I did the Challenge route which was 37 miles with just over 600M of elevation.
I really enjoyed the ride but was pretty gutted to find out if you registered on the day you didn't get a timing chip but still had to pay full price.
Also people were missing the sign posts and getting lost all over the place, I live fairly local so "practiced" the route before so knew where I was going.
Strava tells me my moving time was 2Hours 8Minutes with an average speed of 17.4MPH.
I'm keen to do more sportives before the winter, any tips on improving performance or road/race/sportive etiquette? I feel I could have gone quicker but was riding with a friend who was slower than me, I dropped him with 10 miles to go and finished 10 minutes before him.
I'd like to try the 70 mile epic route next year!
