😯

Hope to hell he wasn't riding with any "friends". If he was, they're not real friends!

Wait at the end of each of the harder section. If a rider doesn't turn up in a reasonable time for their speed, someone goes back to find 'em.

Half an hour?

Anyway, rant over, hope he's OK.

He was with his mate they were waiting for an ambulance, He was in a survival bag thing (like an orange sleeping bag)looked pretty good bit of kit.
Think I would of tried to get off the mountain by fire road rather that lie there catching hypothermia.

He could have been in shock?? Was probably going into shock getting freezing cold. Its impossible to know how he hit the ground and whether he had any internal or neck/back injuries so maybe he did the best thing waiting??

2 weeks ago i came off and landed on my wrist and face.. i had to walk back to my van then drive 20mins with what felt like a broken wrist (had a cast on for 12 days with suspected scaphoid fracture).

Theres no way i would have sat on a cold mountain waiting for help if it was just a wrist injury.

+1 survival bag. I've been meaning to get one for 10 yrs but haven't, even though they're cheap and I've no excuse.

Would have been warmer with someone in there with him.

yeah, it rankles me a little bit when you hear the pseudo tough guys on here scoffing at safety gear and claiming that there's no real danger in mountain biking..

It only takes an immobilising injury during adverse conditions for exposure to become a serious issue, even in your local woods never mind an exposed and remote hillside somewhere..

scoffing at safety gear
