My Hope seat clamp broke today, thankfully not too far from home, but disappointing none-the-less. It's the newer design, and the clamp that holds the cam side sheared off. Anyone else had problems with these? Will email Hope on Tuesday to see what they say.
The only problem I had is that the bolt running through the clamp wasn't threaded far enough along it's length. I had to put a couple of thin washers under the brass insert to create enough clamping force. This was on a carbon frame, so it might have been something specific.
My new style one bust last year. I had seatpost slippage and was putting it on pretty tight to stop that. It busted in the same place as yours. Unlike you I was someway from home.
one off the guys that i cycle with had a very similar problem. he contacted hope and got it returned. they replaced the seat clamp and i think it was free off charge with no proof of purchase.
