Went for a ride on the road early this morning, last minute decision - basically grabbed the bike and went. I didn't take my camelbak with me (big mistake) like i normally do and 4 miles into it my chain decided it didn't want to be in one complete piece anymore. After a long walk home noticed i have lost some links too so new chain is needed.

Been looking around for the best deal for the money, any suggestions what 9 speed chain to get for under £20?

The SRAM chain for £19.99 - works fine, has a powerlink which make removal for cleaning easier. Or buy the £15 one and spend the fiver on some WD40. Might stop it rusting up 😉

How old is ur drivetrain?

If its anything other than new you may well need new rings/ cassette

Have always used Sram chains, PC991 on my Heckler, but i bought a KMC for this bike as it was cheaper by quite a lot at the time. Bought a new cassette at the same time (both sat in my tool box in the packets until recently), both have done approx 150 miles - chainrings have done about 400 miles.

Just thought i would ask if there any recommendations.

I've got a new, boxed 991 here that you could have for £17 posted.

Email in profile if interested.
