Had a creaking bottom bracket so replaced PF BB only to find that the aluminium BB shell is fractured where it covers the seat tube. It also rotates within the carbon frame. I presume that the shell should be a tight fit in the frame.

The shell isn't a complete cylinder. There are large cut-outs where the seat tube and down tube are. Drawing of shell attached (it is still in the frame but I've drawn it as if it has been removed - should have taken photo but forgot and have now fitted new BB).

Any clues on what to do? Can I replace the shell? Can I make it structurally sound again? Will a carbon frame repairer be able to fix it?

Any clues on what to do?

See if you can get a replacement frame under warranty?

Also, that picture hosting site has some "interesting" ads. Are they responding to your browsing history or mine?

Thanks for the idea - the bike is 2013 model so well out of warranty. The picture hosting site was the first I could find that was easy to use and didn't need the rigmarole of another username/password - perhaps this is why the ads server are somewhat dubious.

Here's the picture from a less dodgy hosting site!

I had a slightly similar issue and glued mine back in, not ridden the bike much since tho.

I think there are a few folk with knowledge around...

Thanks @cynic-al. Can you remember what glue you used? Was it one specific to carbon material?
