Dull, I know, but who's good for the magic mix of price, reliability and customer service. Just need half-decent wi-fi in Hebden Bridge, for everyday browsing, music, film, nowt too fancy. Landline would be good too. PlusNet, TalkTalk or any others worth looking into? I know I'm gonna puke when I work out how much we've wasted being with BT. Ta for any tips.

EE - Pay the line rental in one and its £11 a month then £2.50 broadband if you're with them for mobile or £5 if not.

I moved from plusnet (who were crap) to BT who are fine. Which is odd as they're the same company.

Unless you want to pay the $$$ for someone like Andrews and Arnold then whoever is cheapest as all the consumer ones are just as shite!

Anyone know a firm that does reduced line rental if you elect not to have an actual landline phone? I think we haven't made a call on it in 6 months and the only calls we get on it are spam ppi (even though we are registered on tps).

Only Virgin do broadband only - it still works out cheaper to have a package with them though for some daft reason!
Check out MoneySavingExpert for the details.

I spent ages looking as I never use the landline and EE were literally hundreds cheaper than anyone else over the course of a typical contract as an existing mobile customer. They are the only ones who I found offering a reduced price of any form. Paying the years line rental in one saved over £60.

I've just gone to SSE. It's rebranded BT, the BT bod even came round to fit the master socket.

There's cash back as well on Quidco and it's the cheapest ATM for 'unlimited fibre' which doesn't seem that fast in reality... Ho hum, suppose that's the downside of a fibre/copper hybrid service.

We're with BT, big discount for paying line rental up front.
